| January 7-10, 2008 | Consumer Electronics Show DFI partnered with the Consumer Electronics Association to host the first ever "Technologies and Emerging Countries" program at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show. President Paul Kagame of Rwanda, CEO Paul Jacobs of Qualcomm, and Dr. Nick Negroponte of One Laptop per Child were among the speakers highlighting the role technology plays in development.

Fall 2007 | CAFTA-DR Implementation Workshop The USG examined the possibility of sponsoring a three day workshop for senior- and working-level Telecom officials of countries participating in the CAFTA-DR Free Trade Agreement (FTA). The workshop will examine country-specific and crosscutting issues involved in implementing the Telecom requirements of the CAFTA-DR FTA. Location: El Salvador
